BILLINGS, Mont. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team defeated Montana State Billings 3-2 (20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-27, 25-13) on Thursday night at Alterowitz Gymnasium.
In the fifth-and-deciding set, a pair of
Maela Honma WOU kills book ended a Yellowjacket attack error and a
Samantha Darby ace to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Wolves advantage grew to 12-6 before MSUB battled back to make it 13-12 and 14-13 before an
Ali Millspaugh kill closed out the match for WOU.
Honma paced WOU with 27 kills to go along with 19 digs and two aces, Millspaugh had 11 kills and four blocks while
Finley Buman added nine kills and five blocks. Darby had a team-high 53 assists while
Kilinoelehua Helm led the team with 21 digs.
The Wolves continue their road trip Saturday at Seattle Pacific.
