MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The No. 20 Western Oregon women's soccer team played Saint Martin's to a 1-1 draw on a rainy Thursday at WOU Turf Field.
The match was scoreless in the first half before the Wolves (10-3-5 overall, 7-2-4 GNAC) scored on an
Olivia Boger goal assisted by
Lauren Rose in the 52nd minute to make it 1-0. The Saints answered in the 61st minute to tie it and the game remained that way the final 29 minutes.
WOU outshot Saint Martin's (2-12-3, 1-9-3) 16-5 in the contest, including 9-4 on shots on goals.Â
The draw keeps the Wolves in third place in the conference with 25 points and they will play in the GNAC Championships No. 2/3 matchup no matter what (Seattle Pacific could tie the Wolves for that spot, but WOU owns the head-to-head tiebreaker by going 1-0-1 against the Falcons this season).
The Wolves close out the regular season 1:30 p.m. Saturday at home against Montana State Billings for Senior Day. The Senior Day ceremony is set for a 1:10 p.m. start.
