CARSON, Calif. --- The Western Oregon softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at CSU Dominguez Hills, 8-0 and 9-2, Tuesday at Toro Field.
In game two, the Wolves (1-6 overall) fell behind 2-0 heading into the second inning before
Isabelle Lewis ripped a two-run double to left to score
Lexi Baumgartner and Lauren Maurer to even the score.
However, the Toros (7-2) took the lead for good with a solo homer in the fourth and added three more in the sixth to make the final 9-2.
Lewis finished 2-for-3 with with the two RBI while Baumgartner went 1-for-2 with a run while
Jenna Bixler was 1-for-3 with a double.
Kennedy Abbas got the loss, going three innings and giving up five runs on eight hits iwth a strikeout and no walks.
In the first game,
Aaliyah Gaboriault led WOU at the plate - going 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base.
Victoria Zimmerman,
Emma Cordero and
Lexi Carlos also each had a hit for WOU.
Abby Stansbury got the loss, going three innings and giving up five runs on six hits with a strikeout and a walk.
The Wolves conclude their California road trip Wednesday when they take on Concordia Irvine.
