NEWBERG, Ore. --- The Western Oregon baseball team scored multiple runs in five different innings while four pitchers combined to give up just one run on its way to a 13-1 win at George Fox on Tuesday at Morse Field.
The Wolves (4-13) scored four in the second to take an early lead before scoring two in the fifth, sixth and seventh before adding three more in the eighth to make the final 13-1.
Eight different players had a hit in the contest with
Randy Stultz going 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and a run,
Zane Garvey going 2-for-4 with two runs, Andre Jackson going 2-for-5 with a run,
Owen Bischoff going 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI,
John Oleson went 1-for-4 with two RBI and two runs and
Ruban Cedillo was 1-for-3 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base.
On the mound,
Aidan Melendrez picked up his first win as a Wolf, going five innings while giving up one run on five hits with three strikeouts and a walk. The trio of
Dominic Tatone (2.0 IP, 1 H, 4 SO, 2 BB),
Caleb Malloy (1 IP) and
Ben Edwards (1 IP, 1 SO, 1 BB) gave up just one hit and no runs over the final four innings.
