BELLEVUE, Wash. --- The Western Oregon baseball team rallied from a 6-2 deficit with a four-run seventh inning to tie Division-I Seattle, but fell on a walk-off homer 8-6 Saturday at Bannerwood Park.
The Wolves (12-24) trailed 5-1 after three before a
John Oleson homer cut the deficit to three. The Redhawks (15-23) answered with a run of their own in the fourth to make it 6-2.
The score remained that way until the seventh when the Wolves scored on a
Owen Bischoff sac fly, a wild pitch and tied it with an Oleson two-run single to make it 6-6. The score remained that way until SU hit a walk-off homer to end it in the ninth.
Oleson finished 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI to lead WOU at the plate.
Shane Bailey was strong in relief for the Wolves, going two scoreless innings giving up two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
WOU returns to action 1 p.m. Friday at home against Montana State Billings.
