NAMPA, Idaho --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team got a goal and an assist from senior
Alex Grignon and defensively didn't give up a shot in the first half and only three in the contest during a 2-0 win over Colorado Mesa on Thursday at NNU Soccer Field.
The Wolves (2-1) got on the board in the 15th minute when
Alex Grignon scored his third goal of the season on an assist from
Marcus Vazquez (his second assist in the young season).
The score remained that way until the 66th minute when
Yahir Ocampo Navarro scored his first goal of the year - assisted by Grignon - to make it 2-0 Wolves.
The defense did the rest - holding CMU (1-1-1) to just three second-half shots and outshooting the Mavericksk, 11-3. WOU's
Justin Stewart made the one save he needed to make in the contest.
The Wolves return to action Saturday in Nampa against Westminster.
