SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- The Western Oregon football team fell to D-I Cal Poly 56-7 on Saturday night at Spanos Stadium.
The Wolves (1-1) trailed 35-0 at the half and was down 42-0 before
Jordan McCarty found
Cody Hall for a 29-yard touchdown pass for WOU's lone score of the game.
McCarty finished 23-for-40 for 261 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He also led the team in rushing with 25 yards.
Keyvaun Eady had a team-high six catches while Carson Wrokman had three catches for a team-best 45 yards receiving.
Tyler Copeland led the defense with an interception to go along with six tackles.
Nijawn Sterling had a sack, two tackles for loss and five tackles while
LJ Imo also added a sack and two tackles for loss.
Andre Northrup added an interception as well for the Wolves.
WOU returns home next Saturday to open Lone Star Conference play against Sul Ross State.
