WOLVES HEADING INTO 2025
The Western Oregon volleyball embarks on its fourth season under head coach
Kaiao Nahale-a - and the Wolves have improved each season (9-17 in 2022, 10-16 in 2023 and 15-12 last season). The 15 wins last season was the most for the program since 2012.
While WOU lost five seniors from last year's squad - including All-GNAC First Team outside hitter
Madison Hornback and All-GNAC Honorable Mention right-side hitter
Bailee Hartsook - the Wolves return a strong squad along with a talented group of newcomers. Â
Sophomore
Maela Honma returns after being named the GNAC Freshman of the Year last season and was the only underclassmen named to the All-GNAC Preseason Team this season after she was second on the team at 3.06 points per set (including 2.51 kills per set). Six-foot-1 senior middle blockerÂ
Chloe Asciutto returns after another strong season for the Wolves in 2024 (2.32 pts per set, team-high 0.87 blockers per set). Sophomore
Lauryn Johnson (2.20 points per set) and junior
Kilinoelehua Helm (2.19 points per set) also return for the Wolves.
WOU also brings back both setters in
Kealani Rosa (5.13 assists per set) and
Samantha Darby (5.05 assists per set). Libero
Sidney Friesen also retuRns after averaging 2.17 digs per set in 2024 for the Wolves.
