MONMOUTH, Ore. --- There was no letdown by the Western Oregon men's soccer team after an intense draw with No. 3 CSU Pueblo on Thursday as the Wolves dominated from the opening whistle for a 3-0 win over Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday afternoon at WOU Turf Field.
The Wolves (4-1-1) outshot the Lumberjacks (2-3-1) 17-2 - including 9-0 on shots on goal.Â
However, WOU didn't finally convert a chance until the 45th minute when
Yahir Ocampo Navarro scored on an assist from
Harper Neubeck. WOU made it 2-0 on an
Evan Huber goal in the 58th minute before capping the scoring in the 86th minute when freshman K'kaprio Tejeda-Martinez sent a beautiful ball into the box where senior Reise Corpuz was there to put it away and make the final 3-0.
WOU heads to Texas this week and takes on No. 17 St. Mary's (Texas) on Thursday and Midwestern State - which started the year nationally ranked - on Saturday.
