ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Western Oregon women's basketball team saw a second-half rally come up short in a 57–49 loss to 11th-ranked Central Washington on Saturday evening at Nicholson Arena.
The Wolves (9-8, 4-5 GNAC) trailed by as many as 18 points late in the second quarter before surging back into the game with a strong third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 25–10 to cut the deficit to one entering the final period. Central Washington (18-1, 9-0) answered with timely baskets down the stretch to hold off Western Oregon's push.
Enid Vaifanua led Western Oregon with 16 points, while Kylani Rookstool added 10 points and four steals. Triniti Youngblood chipped in 10 points off the bench.
Western Oregon returns home Thursday to host Simon Fraser.
