PORTLAND, Ore.--Western senior forward Kyra DiBenedetto put the frosting on the cake of a pretty great weekend when she was named today as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

DiBenedetto, a senior from Rancho Cordova, Calif., scored twice in WOU's 3-1 win over Central Washington on Saturday. The tallies were her fourth and fifth goals of the season, which leads the Wolves. Earlier in the week, DiBenedetto and the Wolves defeated Northwest Nazarene 3-2, putting together their first back-to-back victories of the season.

Western Oregon was also named the GNAC Team of the Week.

DiBenedetto is the third Wolves player to be named a GNAC Player of the Week this season. On Sept. 8, Kassie Carpenter was named the Player of the Week and Ayanah Soon was tabbed as the Defender of the Week.

The Wolves will hit the road for their final two matches of the regular season, taking on St. Martin's on Thursday and Montana State Billings on Saturday.
