ORLANDO, Fla. – Sophomore forward Archie Dhima from Western Oregon (Great Northwest Athletic Conference) has been named the D2CIDA Men's Soccer National Player of the Week for his performance during the week of October 19-25.
A redshirt freshman from Mill Creek, Wash., Dhima followed up his GNAC Player of the Week honor with the national version of the same. Dhima scored both of the WOU goals in a 2-1 win over No. 7 Seattle Pacific and he added the first score of the match in a 4-2 victory on Saturday against Northwest Nazarene.
Those wins vaulted the Wolves momentarily into first place in the conference, until SPU won later in the day to take the top spot back.
Dhima ranks second in Division II and first in GNAC for goals scored (16), and has the most goals scored in a GNAC single season since 2019. This week in two matches, he took just four total shots, three on goal, and played only 129 minutes.
This is Western Oregon's first national player of the week honor since re-establishing the men's soccer program in 2022.
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
