EMPORIA, Kan. --- Western Oregon's Brenden Murphy and
Ray Gerrard each earned All-American Second Team honors at the NCAA Division Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Emporia State.
On Thursday, Murphy ran the 400 prelims in 46.73 seconds - good for 11th place in his first time at the NCAAs and All-American Second Team honors (the top eight earn first team honros, the next four earn second team).
On Friday, Gerrard just missed the finals in the discus - finishing 10th with a distance of 51.97 meters (170 feet, 6 inches - the top nine advanced to the finals) and earning All-American Second Team honors.
On Saturday, Jacob Berhman and
Izzy Boyd each finished 20th in the shot put with Berhman finishing with a mark of 16.37 meters (53-8.5) and Boyd's top mark being 13.92 meters (45-8).
