Previously, Forbes served as assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator at Pacific University. She also has worked as a volunteer assistant coach at Eastern Washington University. Forbes has coached and worked with club teams in both Oregon and Washington.
Forbes (then Kady Try) was a four-year starter as an outside hitter at Central Washington University. As a senior, she was named first team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference after leading the GNAC in kills per set (4.14) and in points. Her kill average was the second highest in CWU history.
Forbes is a native of Brentwood, Calif., but spent her final prep year at Mead High School in Spokane, Wash. She led her high school team to a state title while also earning Washington State High School Player of the Year honors. She graduated from CWU in 2010.
