Box Score SEATTLE - The Western Oregon University women's soccer fell to the number two team in the region, Seattle Pacific, 2-0 Thursday, Nov. 6.
The Falcons received both goals in the first 21 minutes of the match from Janae Godoy. Her first came after she received a double-assist from Savanna Hanson and Shannon Oakes and deposited the shot in the net from eight yards out. Godoy's second goal again came on an assist from Oakes, as she received a thru-ball and knocked it in the shot from six yards away.
The Wolves were outshot 17-5 on the afternoon including 7-2 on shots on goal. Maggie Kuzmer and Brenna Lander each had one shot on goal to lead Western Oregon. At goalkeeper, Kelsie Blachly played the entire first half in net with one save. She gave way in the second half to Brittney Rigtrup who posted four saves in her 45:00 minutes of play.
The Western Oregon women's soccer team will close out its season this Saturday (Nov. 8) on the road as it takes on the No. 1 team in the region, Western Washington at 1:00 p.m., in Bellingham. A win for the Vikings would clinch the GNAC title for WWU, while a loss opens the door for Seattle Pacific to claim the title.
