MONMOUTH, Ore. - Watching the baseball playoffs and feeling the itch to get back on the diamond? Join the Western Oregon baseball team for one of its four camps this winter.
The Wolves will hold camps November through January to assist local youth and high school baseball players in their preparation for the 2010 season.
Each camp will focus on the development of specific baseball skills and techniques. The camps will be held at the Physical Education Building on the campus of Western Oregon University and are open to anyone 8-18 years of age.
The Wolves will offer a one-day infield camp on Sunday, Nov. 1 from 11:00 a.m., to 5:00 p.m. It will then host a pitching & catching camp Dec. 5-6. Saturday's session will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Sunday's session beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m.
The annual hitting camp will be Dec. 12-13 from 10:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m., till 1:00 p.m., on Sunday. An all-skills camp will close out the schedule Jan. 9-10.
All camps will be hosted by Western Oregon baseball coach Jeremiah Robbins, who led the Wolves to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II west region tournament last year. His squad won its ninth straight conference championship (four under Robbins), and finished the year with a 34-14 record. Robbins was named the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He also earned the Oregon 3A Coach of the Year in 2004 at Douglas High School.

WOU baseball players will also be involved in demonstrations and teaching.
Cost for the infield camp will be $80 per camper while the pitching & catching along with the hitting camp will be $130. The all-skills camp will be $150.
