LACEY, Wash. - The Western Oregon University women's soccer team fell at Saint Martin's 1-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest Saturday, Oct. 3.
The loss drops the Wolves to 2-8-3 (1-5-0) on the season, while Saint Martin's improves to 6-5-0 (2-3-0).
The match's lone goal came in the 77th minute as SMU's Nicole Nedervelt kicked in a rebounded ball from the top of the penalty box. The score was Nedervelt's third of the season.
The WOU defense only allowed 12 total shots, eight of which were on goal. In the first half, Saint Martin's was able to get off just two total shots and one cornerkick. Junior goalkeeper
Kelsie Blachly recorded six saves while playing all 90 minutes. SMU's main offensive weapon, junior Jill Webb, was rendered ineffective as all three of her shots on goal failed to connect for a score. Webb came into the game with six goals and 13 points on the season.

Rachelle Kliewer's three shots on goal and freshman Kym Witmer's two shots on goal. Senior

The Wolves will conclude their three-game road trip on Thursday, October 8, when they face GNAC foe Central Washington at 3:00 pm in Ellensburg, Wash.
