NAMPA, Idaho
- Amanda Fleer went 5-for-7 in the doubleheader with two home runs and two doubles as the Western Oregon University softball team took two games from Northwest Nazarene, 7-3 and 12-0, Friday, Feb. 27, at Halle Field.

The wins moved Western Oregon to 4-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference as NNU fell to 1-5.

"We played solid defense and had some good pitching but we also really hit the ball today." said WOU head coach Pam Knox. "We were really excited to get to play and we were very sharp all day."

Game 1
Second baseman Amanda Fleer hit two home runs and Jessica Wood pitched a complete game while striking out 10 Crusaders hitters to lead Western Oregon to a 7-3 victory in game one.

Wood went seven innings for her second complete game of the season, giving up just nine base runners and three runs, two earned, to improve to 2-0.

Fleer went 2-for-3 in the game with three RBIs as she went deep in the third and seventh innings. Her homer in the top of the third stretched the Wolves' lead to 5-2 and would prove to be the deciding runs.

Western Oregon jumped on NNU's pitching in the top of the first, scoring three runs, with the big blow coming on a one-out two-run homer by cleanup batter Jessica Hallmark.

Wood also helped her cause at the plate, as she went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Krysta Pennington went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Rocky Knuth reached base in all three of her plate appearances as she went 2-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base. Tyler Sutherland collected three walks out of the leadoff spot with a stolen base and a run scored.
