SALEM, Ore. - The Western Oregon track and field team won seven events at the WOU-Willamette Mini Meet Thursday, Apr. 16.
Stephanie Lane recorded a season-best throw of 124-10 (38.05m) in the javelin as she moved into sixth place on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference performance list. Jillian Lorenzen finished second in the event with a toss of 116-6 (35.50m).
Jacque Helbling and
Mandy Keifer finished one-two in the women's 200m dash with times of 27.21 and 27.62, respectively.
The Wolves also finished first and second in the women's 800m as
Meryl Butcher registered a time of 2:21.65 and
Zoe Skordahl a time of 2:22.97.
In the long jump,
Kelsey Neilson went to 11th place on the GNAC list with a distance of 16-3 (4.95m).
On the men's side,
Zach Massari posted a season-best time of 4:00.11 in the 1500m to place himself 12th in the conference.
Chris Freeman won the long jump with a leap of 20-10 (6.35m) while
Austin Roberts won the pole vault by clearing a height of 13-5.25 (4.10m).
Matt Schryvers finished third in the men's hammer but did move to sixth place in the GNAC with a season-best toss of 155-8 (47.45m).
Members of the team will now compete at the Lewis & Clark Invite in Portland, Ore., and at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on Friday (Apr. 17).
