BILLINGS, Mont.
- Krissi Kemper had a match-high 13 kills and Western Oregon's defense held Montana State Billings to a .017 hitting percentage to win in four sets, 25-18, 25-22, 24-26 and 25-18, on Thursday, Oct. 21.

The win coupled with a loss by Alaska Anchorage moved Western Oregon (10-7, 8-4 GNAC) into third place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, a half-game ahead of the Seawolves. The loss dropped the Yellowjackets to 3-18 on the season and to 3-9 in the GNAC.

"It is really hard to get a win on the road; it doesn't matter where you are playing," said Western Oregon head coach Brad Saindon.

Kemper converted on 13 of her 19 attempts to go along with just four errors for a .474 hitting percentage. She also led the Wolves with five blocks. Stephanie Beeler and Becky Blees each added nine kills. Blees also recorded four of WOU's nine service aces. Corynn Kopra contributed with a team-high 13 digs, and Jorden Burrows added 33 assists.

"I thought Stephanie Beeler was really good tonight and was a leader out there, and she backed it up with her performance," Saindon explained. "We were really good at times and bad at others; it is all about sustaining that level of consistent level of play.

"It was an important win we had to have and now we are off to Seattle Pacific," continued Saindon.

Western Oregon will be in Seattle to face the No. 13 Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1:00 p.m.
