MONMOUTH, Ore. - Western Washington took two of the three games of a softball tripleheader from Western Oregon, Saturday, Apr. 24. The Vikings won game one 6-3 and game two 9-0, before the Wolves bounced back to take game three 5-2.

The losses ended Western Oregon's (27-16, 21-9 GNAC) seven-game winning streak and dropped the team two games out of first place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, as Central Washington swept a five-game series from Northwest Nazarene. The wins brought Western Washington's record to 21-20 on the season and to 17-13 in the GNAC.

Game 1

The Wolves led 3-2 entering the bottom of the sixth inning before the Vikings put four runs on the board. After Michelle Wrigley had singled and Meghan Flem received an intentional walk, Anderson doubled in the left center field gap to tie the game at 3-3. Kelsie Bickar then stepped to the plate with two runners in scoring position and belted her fourth home run of the year to give the Vikings the 6-3 lead.

Sarah McEnroe (9-8) earned the win in relief. She gave up just one hit and no earned runs while striking out five in her 3.1 innings of work.
