BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Western Oregon University took two of three games from Western Washington Saturday, Apr. 3rd. WOU dropped the first game 3-2 before coming back to win game two 8-6 and game three 5-3.

The wins pulled the Wolves (19-13, 13-6 GNAC) to within one game of first place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, as Central Washington dropped two of three at Northwest Nazarene. The losses left the Vikings (14-16, 9-10) six games off the pace in the conference.

Game 1
Jordan Emmil hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth broke a 1-1 tie and propelled Western Washington to a 3-2 win over Western Oregon.

Amanda Fleer hit a solo shot to lead off the top of the seventh to get the Wolves within one, but that is as close as they would get.

WOU was held to just three hits by Sarah McEnroe (6-5) who earned the win in a complete game performance. She struck out five and walked just one.

Game 2
The Wolves came from four runs down in the top of the seventh to send it to extra innings, and won it 8-6 with two runs in the top of the eighth.

Andrea Bailey, Jessica Hallmark and Kendra George all knocked in two runs, while Tyler Sutherland and George both crossed the plate twice.

Stephanie Albrecht (4-0) picked up the win in relief. She gave up just one run in 3.2 innings of work while striking out five before giving way to Jessica Wood for a two-out save.

Trailing 6-2 in the top of the seventh, the first three batters of the innings reached on doubles to pull the Wolves within one. After a walk to Sutherland the next two batters of the inning got out to bring Jessica Hallmark to the plate with runners at second and third. Hallmark then singled to score both runners and knot the game at 6-6.

In the extra frame, Tierra-Lyn Cuba ledoff the inning with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Ellen Bogardus. George then singled to right scoring Cuba from second. George would come home later in the inning on a single to center by Bailey.

Jackie Rothenberger and Krista Bickar had three hits apiece for the Vikings.

Game 3
Brittany Reeves went 6.2 innings giving up seven hits and three unearned runs while striking out seven and WOU never trailed in the game en route to winning the series.

Tyler Sutherland was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run homer. Jessica Hallmark also knocked in two runs, as she went 2-for-3.

Jessica Wood picked up her second save of the afternoon after getting the final out of the game.

Michelle Wrigley had three of the seven hits for the Vikings. Sarah McEnroe took the loss.

Next games
Western Oregon will be back on the road next week when it goes to Montana State Billings for a four-game series, Apr. 10-11.
