BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Oregon soccer dropped its Great Northwest Athletic Conference opener against Western Washington, 7-0, on Thursday, Sept. 16.

The loss puts the Wolves' record at 1-4-0 on the season, and elevates the Vikings to 4-0-1.

Vikings' goalkeeper Jamie Arthurs lived up to her reputation by holding WOU scoreless for the 90-minute match. She has now allowed just one goal in 450 minutes played this season.

WWU scored its first goal at the 6:29 mark and added one more in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 halftime lead. The Vikings would score five more goals in the second half.

Western Oregon will now travel north of the border to face Simon Fraser on Saturday (Sept. 18) at noon.
