BILLINGS, Mont.
- No. 23 Montana State Billings scored a pair of first half goals to defeat Western Oregon 2-0, on Thursday (Sept. 30), and earn their fourth straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory.

The Yellowjackets now possess a 4-1-0 record in conference play and a 7-1-1 mark overall. The loss dropped Western Oregon to 1-8-0 on the season and to 0-5-0 in the GNAC.

MSU Billings got on the board first after Western Oregon scored an own goal in the 27th minute. The Yellowjackets would tack on one more on in the 40th minute when Jackie Hill headed in a goal off a corner kick.

Western Oregon outshot MSU Billings 11-9 in the match and won the advantage in corner kicks (6-5), but could not find the back of the net. Marina Austin and Rachelle Kliewer each recorded three shots, two on goal, to lead the Wolves. Taylor Thompson and Rebecca Hoiland also put up two shots apiece. Heidi Greenback was the only member of the Yellowjackets to have two or more shots in the match.

Kelsie Blachly made five saves in the loss of the Wolves, while Sabrin Grandke-Bawab had the same number for the 'Jackets.

Western Oregon will now return home to face Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 1:00 p.m.
