STANISLAUS, Calif.
– A trio of first half goals was too much for the Western Oregon women's soccer team to overcome as the Wolves fell to Cal State Stanislaus, 4-1, in action on Saturday night.

With the loss, Western Oregon falls to 0-2 on the season while CSU Stanislaus improves to 2-0.

The Warriors jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a sixth minute goal from Karenee Demery. On a pass forward from Allison Case, Demery was able to beat the Wolves keeper in a one-on-one situation, giving CS Stanislaus the one-goal advantage.

Alisa Barlow extended the lead to two goals in the 35th minute with a shot into the lower-right hand corner of the net while Tiffany Martin's goal in the 42nd minute gave the Warriors a three-goal advantage into the break.

Western Oregon was unable to rally in the second half as the Warriors added a goal in the 61st minute to close out the 4-0 victory.

Millie Brown made one save to record the shutout victory while Western Oregon's Kelsie Blachly stopped seven shots in the loss.

Marina Austin led the way for the Wolves with one shot on goal while Demery had seven shots and one goal for the Warriors.

Western Oregon will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 9, when the Wolves host Northwest Christian in the home opener at 5:00 p.m.
