MONMOUTH, Ore.
- Tarance Glynn scored a career-high 33 points and recorded his fifth double-double of the season to lead Western Oregon to a 95-80 win over Simon Fraser on Thursday, Jan. 6.

The win was the fourth straight for the Wolves at home, as they moved to 8-7 on the season and to 3-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The loss was the fourth in a row for SFU, who fell to 2-7 on the season and 1-2 in the GNAC.

Glynn hit 14-of-17 shots from the field and grabbed 14 rebounds en route earning the double-double. He scored 22 of his 33 points after halftime, as he hit 9-of-10 shots from the field with his only miss being a failed tip-in.

"He is an active player and he came ready to play tonight," said Western Oregon head coach Craig Stanger about sophomore Tarance Glynn. "He did a nice job defensively and shot the gaps in our zone. Offensively, he attacked the basket and that is what we have been preaching to him all season."

Kyle Long also came through with 21 points, for his fourth game of the season with 20 or more points. Wheadon scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half. Both Long and Wheadon added five assists apiece. The Wolves bench also came through, outscoring SFU's 14-5.

"The guys are playing well together and fueling off each other," Stanger explained.

Western Oregon led 43-33 at the half thanks to a 19-5 run to close out the period. Long had 12 of his 21 points in the opening stanza to lead the Wolves. Tarance Glynn added 11 points, on 5-of-7 shooting, and seven rebounds. WOU was able to weather 14-3 assault early in the game before claiming the lead for good at 31-28 with 5:41 left in the half.

In the second period, WOU shot 64.3 percent to build its lead to 18 points. However, Simon Fraser would continue to battle back behind the hot shooting of Ricky Berry and Justin Brown, as it cut the Wolves' lead to four points (76-72) with 3:52 remaining. Long and Glynn would not let the Wolves relinquish the lead. The duo combined for the next 12 points for WOU, as it outscored SFU 11-1 over the two minute stretch to push its lead back to 15 points.

The Western Oregon men's basketball team will look to sustain the home court advantage this Saturday when Western Washington comes to town for a 7:00 p.m., tipoff.
