Wolves battle MSUB and NNU on the road

This week:

The Western Oregon women's soccer team will conclude its three-match road trip with two matches against Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents. The Wolves will battle against Montana State Billings on Thursday (Oct. 13th), and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday (Oct. 15th). Kickoff against Montana State Billings is at 1:00 p.m. and noon against Northwest Nazarene.

A look at the Wolves:
The Western Oregon Wolves are back on the winning track as they have won two matches in a row. Their last victory came Saturday, when they beat Saint Martin's Saints, 2-1.

Lindsay Bauman got the game-winning goal against the Saints' as she was able to put the game-winning goal into the net in the 71st minute. She is now tied with Marina Austin for the most goals on the Wolves with three goals.

The Wolves' first goal of the match came from Cassandra Olson, when she was able to rattle the ball free during a scrum in front of the Saints' goal.

Bauman is now tied for second in the GNAC with 41 shots.

A look at Montana State Billings:
Montana State Billings welcomes the Wolves with a record of 8-1-2 overall, and 5-0-2 GNAC. MSUB is 4-0-1 in its last five matches.

The Yellowjackets and the Wolves last matched up on Sept. 17th, when they battled to a 1-1 tie. Kimberly Witmer was able to score the lone Wolves' goal when she got a loose ball that was not handled properly by a MSUB defender.

Heidi Greenback currently paces the Yellowjackets with 18 points and six assists. Jaucelyn Richter follows with 50 shots and six goals.

The Wolves trail the Yellowjackets with an all-time record of 3-6-1.

A look at Northwest Nazarene:
The Crusaders enter Saturday's match-up against the Wolves with a record of 4-7-0 overall, and 2-5-0 in GNAC play. NNU will welcome in Saint Martin's on Thursday (Oct. 13th) before Western Oregon arrives at its home pitch.

The last time these two teams matched up this season, Western Oregon shutout the Crusaders 3-0. Marina Austin scored two goals, as Katrina Kem was able to put in the third goal.

Autumn Yturbe leads the Crusaders with 13 points, six goals and 19 shots. Jenny Field has three points for NNU.

Returning home:
The Wolves will return home for their final two-match weekend of the season when they welcome in Central Washington on Oct. 20th, and Seattle Pacific on Oct. 22nd. Kickoff for the Central Washington matchup is at 3:00 p.m. and against Seattle Pacific at 11:00 a.m.
