BURNABY, B.C. – The Western Oregon women's soccer team knotted their first match of their two game road trip with 1-1 tie against Simon Fraser on Thursday, Oct. 27th.
The Wolves traveled north once again to close out their final two-match road trip of the season. However, their outcome wasn't what they were expecting. Western Oregon was looking to rebound and win a match after dropping the last two at home. With their match north of the border, WOU did not go down with out a fight.
In the 70th minute of the match, Western Oregon continued to show their fierce determination to not give up as they found a way to use their heads to get a ball past Simon Frasers' goalie.
Kymberly Witmer earned her second goal of the season as she received a pass from
Lindsay Bauman that put the ball high enough to allow her to head the ball into the goal. With the assist by Bauman, it gives her the team lead with three assists.
WOU continued to find ways to get shots off throughout the remaining minutes of the match and through two overtime periods as they had a seven to two shot advantage over SFU.
The Wolves will look to earn another three points in conference standings as they put this match behind them and travel to Bellingham, Wash. to face off against Western Washington on Saturday, Oct. 29th. Kick off at 1:00 p.m.
