BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington scored three goals to vanquish the Wolves' chances of a .500 record in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for the first time since 2002.
The Vikings (9-5-3, 8-4-1 GNAC) got goals in the 35th, 49th and 90th to defeat Western Oregon (5-8-4, 4-6-3 GNAC) on their home pitch.
Lindsay Bauman led WOU with three shots and one of its two shots on goal. Megan Chapin had six shots to lead the Vikings, who outshot the Wolves 19-9 in the contest.
Western Oregon needed to win its final two matches of the season to even its conference record at 7-7-4.
The Wolves will now look to close the season strong when they come home to host Saint Martin's in its final match of the season on Nov. 6th at 2:00 p.m. The match will also include Senior Day ceremonies.
