Wolves set to battle the Saints on Saturday

This week:
The Western Oregon women's soccer team heads back out on the road, as it embarks on a two-week, three-game road trip. Their first of three matches will be on Saturday, Oct. 8th, at 3:00 p.m. when they travel back north up Interstate-5; to battle Saint Martin's.

The Wolves keep on fighting:
The Wolves enter their match against Saint Martin's University with a record of 3-5-2 overall, and 2-3-1 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Last weekend, Western Oregon split their weekend matchups, as it fell 4-1 to Western Washington, and won 1-0 against Simon Fraser.

Marina Austin paces the Wolves with seven points, three goals, and one assist. Lindsay Bauman leads the team with 34 shots and 13 shots on goal. Bauman leads the GNAC with 30 shots and shots per game. Marina ranks third in conference play with three goals, and fourth with seven points.

On Saturday, during the 1-0 victory over Simon Fraser, Wolves' senior goalie Brittney Rigtrup, earned her fourth shutout on the season. With this shutout she broke her season-high record of three shutouts that she set as a freshman.

A look at Saint Martin's University:
The Saint Martin's Saints will welcome Western Oregon to their home pitch currently with a record of, 1-7-2 overall, and 1-5 in conference play. In the past five matches the Saints they have posted a record of 1-4 during that stretch. They defeated Simon Fraser 1-0 on Sept. 29th.

Ashley Richardson paces the team with three points from one goal and an assist. Nicole Nedervelt leads the Saint's with one goal, and 16 shots.

The Wolves trail the Saint's all-time with a 1-5-2 record.

Road trip continues:
The Western Oregon Wolves will continue to battle away from their home pitch, as they travel to Montana State Billings (Oct. 13th) and Northwest Nazarene (Oct. 15th).
