MONMOUTH, Ore.
– Blake Poole was once again a dominant force inside for Saint Martin's as he scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lift the Saints over the Wolves 89-68 on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The loss snaps the Saints' (12-12, 5-9 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) six-game losing skid since these teams last met on Jan. 11. The loss drops the Wolves to 12-12 on the season and to 7-7 in the GNAC.

Poole helped the Saints pound the glass all night, as they compiled a 40-25 rebounding edge over the Wolves.

Western Oregon was unable to find its range from the outside. It connected on just 2-of-15 from behind the arc, including going 0-for-6 in the first half.

Kyle Long had 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to lead the Wolves. Blair Wheadon added 16 to go along with two blocks and four steals. Tarance Glynn had a team-leading six boards and also reached double-figures with 14 points.

The Saints' bench also gave them a boost by outscoring the Wolves' 19-4.

"They out-executed, outworked us and had a good gameplan," said Western Oregon head coach Craig Stanger. "We didn't respond well to their runs. We need to be more mentally consistent."

Western Oregon will be at home again next week to host the Alaska schools. They will host Alaska Fairbanks on Thursday (Feb. 17) and Alaska Anchorage on Saturday (Feb. 19).
