LAS VEGAS - Jessica Wood pitched a complete game, one hitter to lead Western Oregon to a 6-1 win over Dixie State at the Desert Stinger Classic.

The win gives WOU a 3-2 start to the season and moves Wood's record to 2-2.

She allowed just one run which came after a leadoff in the sixth. Wood also struck out five.

Offensively, the Wolves' performances were highlighted by Bailey Rueck and Ashley Worthey. Rueck went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in. She got the Wolves on the board with a single in the first and sealed the game with a three-run homer in the seventh. Worthey went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer out of the five spot in the order.
