BURNABY, B.C. - Western Oregon held Simon Fraser scoreless over the final 3:44 to earn an 80-73 win on the road on Saturday (Feb. 5).
After the Clan (3-15, 2-10 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) had fought back with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 73, the Wolves (12-11, 7-6 GNAC) clamped down on defense. The Clan went 0-of-6 from the field while committing four turnovers. Meanwhile, Wheadon scored four of 14 points over that stretch to help the Wolves secure the win.
Tarance Glynn led the Wolves in scoring with 21 points and played a critical role for the WOU on both ends of the floor. He had two of his game-high four steals for the Wolves down the in that final 3:44 and also added a team-leading nine rebounds.
DeAngelo Davis poured in 10 points off the bench as the Wolves' reserves outscored the Clans' 24-7. WOU also hit 53 percent of its shots from the field and outpointed the Clan on the line by 11.
Ricky Berry led SFU with 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc.
The Wolves' next game will be at home on Saturday, Feb. 12, against Saint Martin's at 7:00 p.m.
