SALEM, Ore. -
Will Crook gave Western Oregon University its fifth NCAA provisional qualifying standard of the outdoor season as he registered a mark of 195-9 (59.67m) in the javelin toss Saturday (Apr. 2) at the Willamette Invitational.
Crook joined
Chris Reed, Ashley Reed,
Brandon Snook and fellow javelin thrower
Amanda Schumaker on the NCAA provisional list.
On Friday night,
Zach Massari won the men's 1,500m run with a season-best time of 4:00.61 to move into eighth place on the GNAC performance list.
Tim Lundy improved his second-place mark on the GNAC performance list by clearing 14-9 (4.50m) on his first attempt. The senior from Dayton, Ore. (Dayton High School) now trails only 2011 Indoor National pole vault champion Ryan Brown of Western Washington.
Jason Slowey also earned a second place finish as he threw the discus 156-9 (47.78m). He also placed seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 157-3 (47.93m).
Michael Shogren placed second in the 5,000m with a time of 15:22.51.
The Wolves will now prepare to host the John Knight Twilight, Friday Apr. 8, in its only home meet of the season.
