SEATTLE --- The Western Oregon track and field program walked away with a school record and 10 top-10 Wolves marks in its first action of 2026 at the UW Preview.
Amelia Merritt broke the school record in the 600 (a non-NCAA championship event) with a time of 1:33.88 – besting the old record of 1:34.51 set by Olivia Woods in 2019.
Alecia Lemeza moved to No. 2 on the WOU all-time list in the pole vault with a height of 10-10 while Isabel Zamora-Mercado moved to No. 4 at 10-4.
In the women's 3,000 – Kyla Potratz set a PR and ran the fastest indoor 3,000 for WOU since 2020 with a time of 10:01.40 (third on the WOU all-time list). She wasn't alone in cracking the top 10 at WOU in the event as Adele Beckstead finished in 10:09.31 – good for sixth in WOU history – while Nettle Grey snagged the No. 10 mark at 10:23.21.
In the men's 3,000 the trio of Matthew Resnik (8:27.04 – sixth all-time at WOU), Remedan Seman (8:28.20 – eighth all-time at WOU) and Zander Campbell (8:30.47 – 10
th all-time at WOU) all broke in to the school's all-time top 10 list.
Jackson McQuain improved his time in the 60-meter hurdles in the finals with a time of 8.34 (improvement of .02) – good for a tie for fifth in WOU history and fourth at the event.
In the women's 400, Aliyah Taba cracked the WOU all-time top 10 at No. 10 with a time of 58.90.
WOU returns to action next week at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open starting Friday in Moscow, Idaho.
