The Western Oregon men's and women's track and field team opened their 2026 indoor season with a school record in meets in Reno, Nevada, and Boston, Massachusetts, this week.

On Saturday at the Silver State Invitational & Combined Events, WOU's
Brennen Murphy broke his own record in the 400 with a time of 47.48 seconds – an NCAA qualifying time, the No. 2 all-time mark in GNAC history and good for third place at the event. His old record was 47.81.

In the 60-meter hurdles,
Tate Herber just missed his PR and the third-best time in school history (8.32) by running a 8.33 while
Jackson McQuain joined the top 10 all-time at WOU just behind Herber with an 8.36.

Easton Pomrankey in Boston ran a 14:49.55 in the 5,000 meters, good for fourth place on the WOU all-time list.

On the women's side in Reno,
Jazmine Dotson improved her No. 4 WOU all-time mark in the 60 meters by running a 7.74. She also improved her time in the 200 by running a 25.68.

In the weight throw,
Guinevere Rydberg catapulted herself into the No. 4 spot all-time at WOu with a mark of 53 feet, 8.5 inches as she took fifth at the event.

In the women's 60 hurdles,
Isabel Zamora-Mercado ran a 9.20 to tie for the NO. 10 spot on the WOU all-time list.
The Wolves next compete at the UW Indoor in Seattle on Jan. 17.
