First baseman Tierra-Lyn Cuba, outfielder Jessica Hallmark, and pitcher Jessica Wood began their Western Oregon careers in 2008. In the four years since, the trio have made their marks on the WOU Softball program, both as a team and as individuals.

The group were members of a 2008 squad that saw the program reach its first-ever NCAA DII West Region championship game. They have been a part of a pair of second-place finishes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. They earned their 100th career victory on April 16, 2011.

Cuba, Western's always-solid first baseman, finishes her career with a fielding percentage of 0.983, a staggering figure considering the 912 chances she's had. Her fielding percentage puts her first all-time in WOU history with at least 400 chances. In 146 appearances, Cuba has notched 89 hits, 51 runs scored, 50 walks, 21 runs batted in, 13 doubles, and 12 stolen bases as a Wolf.

Hallmark, who's name is scattered throughout the school's record books, played at various spots in the outfield during her career at Western. She owns school records for career home runs (41) and career RBIs (137). Hallmark can also claim the top spot in home runs in a season (12) and RBIs in a season (39). She has a career .333 batting average with 176 hits, 114 runs scored, 53 walks, and 30 doubles in 181 apearances. Hallmark's awards include three GNAC First Team honors (2008-10) as well as NFCA All-West Region Second Team (2009) and All-West Region Tournament (2008). She has been named the league's Player of the Week three times.

Wood has been the Wolves' stalwart in the circle during her four years in Monmouth. She has a lifetime earned run average of 2.88. Like Hallmark, Wood can find her name throughout the school's all-time lists. She stands third in career stikeouts (375), fifth in career innings pitched (428.0) and shutouts (9), sixth in career wins (29), and eighth in career complete games (33) in 93 appearances. Wood was also one of WOU's best hitters this season, batting .330 with 32 hits, 20 runs batted in, seven doubles, and three home runs, including a grand slam. Wood's honors include two GNAC Academic All-Conference awards (2009-10) as well as a GNAC Second Team (2009) and an Honorable Mention (2010) selection. She has been recognized as the conference's Pitcher of the Week once.

All told, the trio of Cuba, Hallmark, and Wood will leave behind a legacy of success both as a group and individually that will be hard to forget.

Join us Sunday (May 1) to honor these three student-athletes as they play their final home game. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. with festivities beginning 15 minutes prior.
