MONMOUTH, Ore. -
Will Crook of the Western Oregon track & field has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 25-May 1.
Crook, a sophomore from Jewell, Ore. (Jewell High School), finished second at the Pacific Twilight in the javelin adding nearly six feet to his previous NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a throw of 205-0. That mark ranks fifth all-time in the GNAC and 12th this spring among NCAA Division II athletes. It also moved him to third in school history.
This week will be the final non-championship competition for the Wolves. The team will travel to Eugene to compete in the Oregon Twilight, May 6.
