[9.29 WOU vs. WWU Game Notes]
This Week:
After a tough road trip, the Western Oregon University Wolves travel back to their home pitch looking to rebound and get back to their winning ways in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Wolves will welcome Western Washington on Thursday, Sept. 29th at 3:00 p.m., and Simon Fraser on Oct. 1st, at 1:00 p.m.
A look at Western Oregon:
The Wolves come into the weekend play, with a record of 2-4-2 overall, and 1-2-1 in GNAC play. During their last road trip in Washington, they lost to Central Washington 2-1, and suffered a hard loss in Seattle against the Falcons of Seattle Pacific University, 3-0.
The lone Wolves goal came via
Lindsay Bauman, as she scored in the 81st minute against Central Washington. This was Bauman's first goal of 2011. She was able to score the goal as she received a pass from
Marina Austin, allowing her to float the ball pass the Wildcats goalie.
A look at Western Washington:
The Vikings come into Thursday's match up with a record of 3-3-2 overall, and 2-2-0 in conference play.
Emily Frankland paces the team in points (six) and goals (three), while Megan Chapin leads the teams with 20 shots, and 10 shots on goal.
WWU and WOU have an all-time series record of 13-9-4, where Western Washington leads in the series.
A look at Simon Fraser:
Simon Fraser enters Saturday's matchup with an overall record of 1-5-0, and a GNAC record of 0-4-0. The Clan will have a match to play against Saint Martin's University on Thursday, Sept. 29th before they head down interstate-5 to match up against the Wolves.
Currently Anna Brancati paces The Clan with nine points. Brancati is also tied with April Coffin, and Jessica Hadden with a goal of their own. Three girls are tied with each other with one assist each.
Western Oregon and Simon Fraser have an all-time record of 0-8-0 against one another, with the Clan leading.
Tickets available:
Ticket plans are available for the 2011 Wolves home matches. Fans are able to purchase a WOU Sports Pass for $75. You will receive general admission ticket to all Western Oregon events, except football. There is also a fall sports pass available where you will receive a general admission ticket to all volleyball and soccer matches.
Single game tickets are $6 for adults, and $4 for non-Western Oregon students.
