[Regional Poll]
MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon men's and women's track & field teams are back in familiar territory as both are ranked in the first regional poll of the 2012 indoor season.
The men's team is ranked fifth in the initial poll with 183.68 points. Grand Canyon was the top ranked team in the West Region followed by four teams from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference; Central Washington, Northwest Nazarene, Western Washington and then WOU.
On the women's side WOU is ranked seventh in the West with 120.58 points. The Wolves are the fourth ranked team from the GNAC in the poll. Northwest Nazarene is ranked second while Western Washington and Seattle Pacific are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. Grand Canyon is also the top ranked team on the women's side.
The Western Oregon men's and women's track & field teams will compete in their second meet of the indoor season this weekend (Jan. 27-28) at the UW Invitational.
