LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Cal Baptist scored six runs in the sixth to spoil Western Oregon's season opener with a 9-7 win at the Desert Stinger Classic on Friday, Feb. 10.

Western Oregon scored in each of the first three innings to build a 5-1 lead. Cal Baptist then cut into it with two runs in the fifth, and then exploded for the six runs which included a grand slam.

Desiree Villegas scored three runs and Andrea Bailey crossed the plate twice. Amanda Evola went 2-for-3 and knocked in two runs. WOU also got two hits apiece from Ashley Worthey and Ashlie Gardner.
