MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon softball team returns to action this week as the Wolves travel to Lacey, Wash., to open Great Northwest Athletic Conference play against Saint Martin's in a four-game series starting on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12:00 p.m. The series will consist of a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 12:00 p.m.
Western Oregon enters the week with a record of 1-4 overall after playing five games at the Desert Stinger Invitational. The Wolves defeated Academy of Art, 2-1, to close out play at the tournament as four WOU pitchers held the Urban Knights to just four hits.
Amanda Evola led the way for the Wolves at the plate, going 8-of-14 with a home run and seven RBI.
Ashlie Gardner added a home run and two RBI for Western Oregon at the tournament.

Eryka Brill was one of five pitchers used at the tournament as she led the Wolves with a 3.89 ERA in nine innings pitched.
Saint Martin's enters the series with a record of 2-3-1 on the year after the Saints split a pair of games against La Sierra University. Lacey McGladrey is the leading hitter for the Saints with a .417 average and four runs scored while Sam Muncger leads the way in the circle, posting a mark of 1-1 with a 1.05 ERA in 13.1 innings pitched.
Western Oregon leads the all-time series against the Saints, 54-13; however, Saint Martin's went 4-2 against the Wolves a year ago.
Following the series against the Saints, the Wolves will remain on the road as they open a four-game series against Central Washington with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 25, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
