MONMOUTH, Ore. – Winners of three-of-four, the Western Oregon softball team returns home for its home opener as the Wolves open a four-game series with Northwest Nazarene, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, March 2, at 1:00 p.m. The four-game series concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 3, at 12:00 p.m.

Western Oregon enters the week with a mark of 4-9 overall and 3-5 conference play after the Wolves captured three-of-four games at Central Washington last week. Hannah Pomeroy led the way for WOU in the series as the junior hurler was named GNAC Pitcher of the Week after winning two games in the series.

In game two of the series, Pomeroy pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits and one unearned run. In the final game of the series, she gave up just six hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out five in the game.

Amanda Evola continues to lead the Western Oregon attack, batting .439 on the season and leading the team with three home runs and 15 RBI. Amanda Baily has scored 18 runs for the Wolves and is hitting .341 on the season.

Northwest Nazarene enters the week with a mark of 1-7 overall and 1-3 in league play after dropping three-of-four to Central Washington to open conference play. Cara Duckworth leads the Crusaders, hitting .444 at the plate with five runs scored while she has posted a 1-4 record in the circle with a 5.45 ERA.

In addition, the WOU Spring Sports Pass is currently on sale, offering fans a general admission ticket to every home baseball, softball and track and field event for just $30.

Following the series with the Crusaders, Western Oregon will return to action on Friday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. when the Wolves travel to Portland, Ore., to face Concordia in a doubleheader.
