MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon softball team returns to action this week as the Wolves host conference rival Western Washington for a four-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 17, at 12:00 p.m. The four-game series concludes with a doubleheader on Sunday, March, 18, at 11:00 a.m.

The Wolves enter the weekend with a mark of 5-12 on the season after splitting a pair of games against Concordia last week.

Amanda Evola leads the Wolves attack as the freshman leads the team with a .418 batting average, four home runs and 19 RBI. Andrea Bailey is also off to a strong start on the season, hitting .333 with two home runs and six RBI.

Hannah Pomeroy has seen the most action in the circle for the Wolves, posting a 2-3 record in 30.1 innings of work.

Western Washington enters the weekend with a record of 3-15 overall, 1-7 in league play, after the Vikings fell to Montana State Billings in three-of-four games last week. Jessica Carey leads the team with a .352 average, three home runs and 12 RBI while Jenna DeRosier has seen the most time in the circle, posting a 1-6 record and 9.13 ERA in 38.1 innings of work.

Admission to WOU softball games is $6 for adults and $4 for children and can be purchased at the gate or online at www.wouwolves.com.

Following the series with the Vikings, Western Oregon will return to action on Saturday, March 24, as they travel to Montana State Billings to open a four-game series.
