Wolves split pair of game on day 2 of tourney

TURLOCK, Calif.
- The Western Oregon softball team split a pair of games at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions on Saturday, Mar. 31.

The Wolves bounced back from a 12-1 loss in the opener against Cal State San Bernardino to defeat Cal State Dominguez Hills in the second game 3-2.

Game 1
Britney Butler knocked in six runs and Alex Mitchell went 5-for-5 to lead Cal State San Bernardino to a 12-1 win over Western Oregon.

Game 2
Amanda Evola and Ashley Worthey knocked in runs in the top of the ninth inning and Brittany Reeves pitched a complete game to lead Western Oregon to a 3-2 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The game remained tied at 1-1 from the bottom of the sixth to the ninth inning when the Wolves would rally for two runs. First Evola doubled in Kendra George from second base, and then came in to score on a single by Worthey.

Reeves would give up one unearned run in the bottom of the ninth but remained the lead for victory.

George had a home run and scored two runs for WOU, while Evola was the only Wolf to record a multi-hit game.
