MONMOUTH, Ore. – Winners of 10-of-12, the Western Oregon softball team returns to action this week as the Wolves host their final home games of the season, opening with a doubleheader on Thursday, April 19, against Montana State Billings at 1:00 p.m. The Wolves conclude the week with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 21, against Saint Martin's at 12:00 p.m.

Western Oregon enters the week with a mark of 17-22 overall, 13-13 in league play, after the Wolves captured seven-of-eight wins last week. WOU swept Northwest Nazarene in a four-game series on the road before returning home to defeat Central Washington twice while splitting a pair of games against Western Washington.

A pair of key performances propelled the Wolves during the week as Ashley Worthey was named the GNAC Player of the week after collecting 11 hits, including two doubles and two triples, in 20 at bats to raise her average 51 points from .267 to .318.

Meanwhile, Hannah Pomeroy, a pitcher from Mossyrock, Wash. (Mossyrock HS) picked up her second GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors of the season as she earned four wins over a five-day span. Pomeroy, who started the week with a 2-7 record, won four of five decisions allowing just six runs in 25 2/3 innings. Pomeroy allowed 25 hits and walked just six, while fanning 11.  Among her victories was a 2-0 shutout of Central Washington Saturday, her first no-run game and WOU's second shutout of the season.

Amanda Evola continues to lead the WOU attack as the freshman leads the team with a .384 average, eight home runs and 31 RBI.

Montana State Billings enters the week in first-place in the GNAC standings with a 23-5 league mark, 30-10 overall. Meg Harasymczuk leads the way, leading the team with 14 home runs and 43 RBI while hitting .375.

Saint Martin's enters the week with a 25-15-1 mark, 15-10 in league play as the Saints are led by Morgan Klemm, who is hitting .421 on the season with 27 RBI.

Admission to the doubleheaders are $6 for adults, $4 for non-WOU students and seniors and free to WOU students with a valid ID.

Following the game against Saint Martin's, Western Oregon will return to action on Wednesday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m. when they travel to Bellingham, Wash., for a doubleheader against Western Washington.
