MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon softball team returns to action this week as the Wolves host Simon Fraser for a four-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, April 6, at 1:00 p.m. The series concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Western Oregon enters the weekend with a 7-20 mark overall, 3-11 in GNAC play, after the Wolves won two of six games at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions last week. Freshman Amanda Evola continues to lead the WOU attack as she is hitting a team-leading .420 on the season with seven home runs and 28 RBI. Andrea Bailey (.330) and Jourdan Williams (.309) are the two other Wolves players who are hitting over .300 on the season.

Simon Fraser enters the weekend with a mark of 21-7 overall and 14-6 in GNAC play as the Clan have won seven straight contests. Kelsey Haberl is hitting .507 on the year to lead the team as four Simon Fraser players have hit five or more home runs. Cara Lukawesky leads SFU in the circle, posting a 2.54 ERA in 99.1 innings of work.

Admission to the contests are $6 for adults, $4 for non-WOU students and seniors and are free to WOU students with a valid ID.

Following the contests with the Clan, Western Oregon will return to action on Thursday, April 12, when the Wolves travel to Nampa, Idaho, for a doubleheader with Northwest Nazarene at 2:00 p.m.
