MONMOUTH, Ore. - Brittany Reeves and Myranda Sawyer held Simon Fraser to one unearned run in 12 innings as Western Oregon took both games of a doubleheader, 10-1 and 1-0, on Saturday (Apr. 7) en route to winning the series.

Game 1
Brittany Reeves picked up right where she left off yesterday as she pitched five innings allowing just four hits and one unearned run to pick up victories on back-to-back days.

Reeves (3-3) would not need the Wolves to rally for a run in the seventh inning today as WOU matched a season-high by putting 10 runs on the board. Kendra George and Ali Parkerson each knocked in two runs to lead the Wolves. Ashley Worthey and Amanda Evola each went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.  WOU also benefitted from three Simon Fraser errors which allowed it to score four unearned runs.

The Wolves' offense scored in all four innings of the game. They put up one in the first on a two-out double by Jourdan Williams and another in the second on an RBI ground out by George. WOU would go on to put up four runs in both the third and fourth innings. In the third WOU batted around with Worthey, Parkerson, George and Andrea Bailey each picking up an RBI.

In the fourth the Wolves scored all four runs with two out. WOU was able to manufacture three runs thanks to some aggressive base running and a couple SFU mistakes. Parkerson also collected her second RBI of the game with a single in the inning.

Game 2
Danielle Harcourt scored on a wild pitch in the third and Myranda Sawyer made it stand up by throwing her first career shutout in the 1-0 win.

Sawyer (4-5) held Simon Fraser to just three hits and two walks while striking out two. She would retire 11 of 12 SFU batters at one point and did not allow a runner to reach third base until there were two outs in the seventh. Sawyer then got the next batter to ground to second to end the game and strand the runner at third.

The Wolves pushed the only run of the game across in the third. Harcourt led off the inning with a single and was then sacrificed over to second. Kendra George then grounded to second base allowing Harcourt to get over to third base. She would come into the score on a wild pitch for the eventual game-winning run.

Next games
The Wolves next games will be Apr. 11th against Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho at 10:00 a.m.
