WAIPAHU, Hawaii - Making her first career start at keeper for the Western Oregon soccer team Hilliary Lutz allowed just one goal to sneak past her, however that would be the difference in a 1-0 game against BYU-Hawaii on Thursday, Sept. 6.
The match was scoreless into the 54th minute when the Seasiders' Kim Micheletti broke the 0-0 tie.
Western Oregon (2-2) outshot BYU-Hawaii (2-1) in the match 7-6, including 5-2 in the first period. The Wolves could not get a shot past the Seasiders' goalie Megan McCain who made three saves in the match.
Lindsay Bauman,
JoEllen DeLeon and
Macy Bothman had one shot on goal apiece for WOU. Lutz made three saves of her own for WOU.
The match closes out the Hawaii road trip for the Wolves (2-2) as they now get ready for Great Northwest Athletic Conference play beginning next Thursday, Sept. 13 against Western Washington.
