MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon men's basketball team returns to action this week as the Wolves travel to Seattle, Wash., for a meeting with No. 5 Seattle Pacific on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. before closing out the week with a trip to Billings, Mont., to take on Montana State Billings on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 6:30 p.m.

WOU enters the week with a record of 8-7 on the season, 3-4 in conference play, after the Wolves snapped a four-game losing skid with a win over Simon Fraser last week. Freshman Andy Avgi led the Wolves in the victory with 15 points as 11 Wolves players scored against the Clan.

Avgi continues to lead the way for WOU as he leads the team and ranks third in the league in scoring at 17.3 points per game. Devon Alexander (11.3 ppg) is the other WOU player in double figures as the Wolves are averaging 75.7 points per contest while shooting 44.6 percent from the field.

Seattle Pacific enters the week with a mark of 13-2 overall and 6-1 in league play as the nationally-ranked Falcons have won four straight contests after road wins at Northwest Nazarene and Central Washington last week. Patrick Simon leads four SPU players in double figures with 14.1 points per game as the Falcons are averaging 75.1 points per contest.

Meanwhile, Montana State Billings sports a 9-9 overall mark and a 2-5 record in league play after defeating the Crusaders to close out last week's action. The Yellowjackets are led by Jarrell Crayton as he leads four MSUB players in double figures with 15.7 points per game. MSUB is shooting 44.0 percent from the floor while scoring 75.2 points per game.

Last season, WOU split a pair of games from Seattle Pacific while falling in two-of-three contests against Montana State Billings.

Heading into the week, the Wolves are currently one-half game ahead of Northwest Nazarene for sixth-place in the GNAC standings as the top six teams will advance to the league tournament at the end of the regular season.

Following this week's road trip, the Wolves will return home to host Saint Martin's on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7:00 p.m.
